Lisa has had a love for all things nature since she was a girl, but her interest in the climate and clean energy space peaked following a “massive electricity generation failure” during winter 2021 in her home state of Texas. Years of subsequent talk on the importance of reliable energy — not only in Texas but around the globe — led her to pivot from a ten-year career in software and formally join the clean energy industry at Powin (now FlexGen), a BESS company focused on utility-scale wind and solar projects. Lisa utilized her expertise managing content for startups to improve and standardize Powin’s product documentation up until its acquisition.
She joined Clean Energy Counsel after learning about its unique ability to balance employee happiness, client success, and real-world impact. Lisa is the firm’s first official marketing hire, and she brings a diverse skillset across marketing, communications, and operations that she’s eager to use to bring awareness to CEC.
In her free time, she enjoys tending to her garden and houseplant collection, playing video games, and doing DIY projects. She lives in the Austin metro area with her husband/high school sweetheart, keeping near to family and in-laws despite insisting on moving every summer when the temps heat up. They have four cats, including their youngest, a special little runt named Nora whose spunky spirit despite her hind leg disability inspires Lisa to choose joy every single day.
