Clean Energy Counsel Represents AMP in $70 Million Project Financing for AI-Powered Waste Infrastructure

Clean Energy Counsel (CEC) served as lead finance and project counsel to AMP Robotics Corporation in a $70 million project financing led by the private credit division of Galvanize Climate Solutions. The financing will fund construction of a new sortation facility and an organics processing system in Portsmouth, Virginia, the next phase of AMP's 20-year partnership with the Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA).

AMP uses AI-powered cameras, robotics, and pneumatic jets to recover plastics, metals, fiber, and organics from raw municipal solid waste. At full scale, the regional system is designed to process more than half a million tons of waste per year and divert at least half from landfill. Recovered organics will be converted into biochar, generating carbon removal credits under AMP's agreement with Google.

Jordan Dansby led the representation, with support from Michael Davey, Brad Alexander, Max Learner, Rebecca Spence, Christina Bonanni, and Brandon King.
