Michael Nisengard

Counsel

Mike developed an appreciation for nature early in his life, during family camping trips and summers spent in the woods at sleep away camp, and as he grew, backpacking trips and other outdoor adventures. Leaning into this passion after graduating high school, Mike earned two degrees in the environmental field. After working as a legislative analyst with both the New York State Senate and a lobbying firm, Mike went back to school and earned his law degree.

Today, Mike’s practice concentrates on real estate components of sustainable energy transactions. Mike regularly advises clients on structuring such transactions, and routinely leads matters involving site control, title issues, real property agreements and related matters in project development, investment, financing, purchase and sale transactions. Having represented owners, developers, landlords, tenants, buyers, sellers, borrowers, lenders and investors, Mike understands all sides of the transaction and leverages this experience to efficiently identify pragmatic solutions which can work for all parties.

Mike enjoys spending time outside, seeing live music, traveling and cheering for Buffalo sports teams.
