Sven advises renewable energy companies, financing platforms, and investors on transactional and structuring matters across the clean energy sector.
He began his career in financial risk management before transitioning to law as a project finance associate at a leading Los Angeles firm in 2007. He also counsels clients on navigating federal and state consumer protection regimes, including disclosure, licensing, and registration requirements.
His experience spans tax equity structures, tax credit transfer transactions, and acquisitions of residential and small commercial renewable energy asset portfolios. Sven brings deep industry insight from his prior role as General Counsel to a leading Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) administrator, where he developed extensive experience across both commercial and residential PACE programs. He counsels administrators, platform companies, capital providers, and property owners on financing structures, compliance, operational best practices, and strategic transactions.
In addition, Sven advises Native American Tribes and Indigenous-led organizations on renewable energy development, financing, and direct pay under the IRA. He is an enrolled member of the Carrizo/Comecrudo Tribe of Texas and serves on the advisory committee of the Indigenous Power & Light Fund.
Outside of work, Sven follows the German Bundesliga, is an avid (and constant) consumer of jazz, and enjoys cooking.
