Tara Dobbs
Attorney
Tara’s commitment to renewable energy stems from her background in environmental justice and witnessing firsthand the destructive effects of fossil fuels on communities and ecosystems. With a strong connection to Wisconsin’s Northwoods, she has cultivated a reverence for the region’s lakes, forests, and wildlife, which instilled in her a dedication to renewable energy work to support the preservation of natural resources for future generations.
Tara has experience representing developers on wind and solar projects throughout the country. Her work encompasses title and survey review, lease negotiations, and land acquisitions and dispositions for renewable energy developments.
Before joining Clean Energy Counsel, Tara worked at an international law firm where she represented developers in commercial real estate and renewable energy transactions. She also advised lenders and developers in affordable housing transactions at two boutique firms, gaining valuable experience in tax credit structures and complex financing arrangements.
When she’s not working, Tara can be found hiking with her dog Piper, skiing in the winter months, and spending as much time as possible on the water in the summer.
