Sally Huang
Attorney

Sally’s interest in clean energy stems from her studies of the physical workings of the climate and the environment as an undergraduate atmospheric science major.  In an effort to solve one of today’s most pressing concerns, she has pursued a legal career in helping clients achieve their renewable energy goals and move towards a more sustainable future.

Sally has over a decade of experience representing developers, joint ventures, lenders and investors in the renewable energy industry.  She has structured, drafted and negotiated financing and transaction documents as lead deal counsel for construction, back-leverage and term financings, tax equity investments, and acquisitions and sales of renewable energy projects. Her notable works include advising a developer with the construction, back-leverage and tax equity financing of a 180MWac solar project with one of the first solar hedges in the United States, representing senior secured lenders in the construction and back-leveraged financing of a $360 million utility-scale wind project, and working with lenders on their first construction revolver of a $350 million portfolio of solar power projects.

Prior to joining Clean Energy Counsel, Sally worked as senior corporate counsel at a major solar developer and practiced project finance at Milbank LLP.  From her experience in-house, she has a deep understanding of what developer clients need from their legal advisers and from private practice, she has extensive experience working closely with commercial teams to identify and manage risk and achieve green objectives.

In addition to her commitment to the environment, Sally enjoys exploring it, especially national parks and destinations abroad.  She always welcomes recommendations for hikes, whether local or across the world, and she would be happy to hear about your favorite tea and coffee spots.
