Michael Davey
Attorney

Driven by a passion for economic development with a positive impact, Mike combines experience in private practice and public service to serve clients working toward a sustainable future for the planet.

As a project finance lawyer, Mike has advised sponsors, developers, borrowers, lenders, and other investors in financings for the development and acquisition of energy and infrastructure projects.  His experience includes complex negotiations of bank and bond financings, project-level and back-levered debt financings, construction, term, mezzanine, and receivables financings, public-private partnerships, and commodity hedges.

Immediately prior to joining Clean Energy Counsel, Mike served as senior counsel in the Treasury Department’s Office of the Assistant General Counsel for International Affairs.  He was a leader of the office’s international development portfolio, and the lead counsel for the United States in international debt-for-nature swap negotiations.  Mike also provided strategic and legal advice to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States in support of its national security functions.

In his free time, Mike can be found cultivating his children’s interest in baseball and the great outdoors.  He also enjoys running, skiing, and experimenting with new plant-based recipes.
