Marlena joined Clean Energy Counsel to focus her practice on the issues she cares about—clean energy and sustainable development. Marlena brings specialized experience in the cleantech industry, having represented project lenders and developers in financing and developing projects ranging from traditional solar and wind farms to anaerobic digesters, bio-plastics, and carbon capture technologies.

She is a creative problem solver and enjoys tailoring her work to each client’s specific needs. Marlena has a breadth of experience within the clean energy and sustainable development industry. Among others, she has represented a client with an investment in the electric bus industry, an innovative e-waste recycling company in obtaining both equity and debt facilities for the development of their pilot plant, a carbon capture tech company in developing its carbon credit sale infrastructure, and the sponsor in the sale of a portfolio of mitigation banks. Prior to joining Clean Energy Counsel, Marlena was Special Counsel in the San Francisco office of Cooley LLP.
