Claire’s commitment to combating climate change and supporting sustainable infrastructure led her to a legal career focused on renewable energy projects.
As an attorney, Claire advises clients to structure and finance renewable energy projects. Claire joined CEC from Milbank LLP’s Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance group. While at Milbank, Claire supported the project financings of utility-scale solar, battery storage, offshore and onshore wind, and solar manufacturing assets. Previously, she was was an Associate in the Energy & Infrastructure group at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where she advised project developers, sponsors, lenders and governmental authorities in the development and financing of renewable energy projects and public private partnerships. Claire remains dedicated to equity and environmental justice and has provided pro bono legal support in collaboration with organizations including Fifth Avenue Committee, WE ACT for Environmental Justice, and Sanctuary for Families.
Claire’s background in both legal practice and climate policy provides her a unique perspective and holistic expertise in advising clients. Before pursuing her legal career, Claire spent several years at the intersection of policy, climate finance, and urban sustainability. As Head of the Financing Sustainable Cities Initiative at C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group, she led technical assistance programs for global megacities seeking to finance sustainable infrastructure projects. At CDP, she supported public North American corporations in their carbon footprint target-setting and annual sustainability reporting.
Outside the office, Claire enjoys spending time with her dogs, Penny and Cosmo. She loves exploring her home city of New York as well as escaping upstate to hike, swim, and cook.
