Tim has spent his entire legal career in the clean energy industry, including as Assistant General Counsel at Abengoa Solar and Senior Counsel on the LG Electronics Solar Project Team. He has advised renewable energy companies on a full range of matters related to project development and operations in the U.S. and internationally, as well as general corporate matters.
Tim is experienced in the drafting and negotiation of a broad range of commercial and project agreements, including EPC, O&M, and asset management contracts, service and supply agreements, and joint development agreements, and is able to work productively and collaboratively with clients, suppliers, customers and stakeholders to achieve mutual goals. He also has significant experience in real estate contracts, including purchase and sale, lease and option agreements, transmission right-of-way easements, and commercial leases.
He has made key contributions to the development, commissioning and operations of two 250 MW concentrating solar plants, including the receipt of two Department of Energy Renewable Energy Federal Loan Guarantees totaling approximately $2.65 billion, and led the legal aspects of LG Electronics’ first successful solar tax equity investment.
Tim’s direct experience as a client working with external counsel highlighted the difficulty of obtaining quality legal services at a fair price, and far too often the frustration of exceeded budgets. He joined Clean Energy Counsel because he believes CEC offers a better solution than the traditional model. Tim brings a personal commitment to clean technology and is driven to help our clients achieve their objectives.
